The Boeing CH-47 Chinook is a versatile, twin-engine, tandem rotor heavy-lift helicopter. The contra-rotating rotors eliminate the need for a rear vertical rotor, allowing all power to be used for lift and thrust, giving a top speed of 170 knots (315 km/h). Its primary roles include troop movement, artillery emplacement, and battlefield resupply. Chinooks have been sold to 16 nations with US and UK as the biggest operators.
The CH-47SD is a modified variant of the CH-47D, with extra-large fuel tanks and higher payload capacities. Chinook is used as flag bearer in Singapore’s National Day since 2001. In 2004, Chinooks were deployed for Asian Tsunami Relief as its heavy payload is very well suited for massive relief deployment. Since then, all Singapore Chinooks wear the National Flags and participated in International relief missions including Hurricane Katrina.
Provided spare decals for all possible Chinook line-up in service since delivery. Singapore flags are also included, so that one can make Chinooks used in Operation Flying Eagle, Hurricane Katrina Relief and current configuration.
Very limited re-issue decals for RSAF CH-47SD without stencils.
Recommended kits: Italeri/Revell 1/72 MH-47
